  • Update on financials – Jay Paggi for Jay Packett

 

  1. Jay provided the golf committee members with the January financial packet in his absence. Jay Paggi led the review with the golf committee.

 

  • Update on golf course conditions, winter projects, and staffing – Colin Walsh

 

  1. The course has been closed due to weather and the needed rest on the course was welcomed. Staffing is limited as expected this time of year and crew members will be coming back in March and April. Winter projects and preparations for the upcoming season are well underway and continue to move forward.

 

  • Golf Genius presentation – Mary Berzinis

 

  1. Mary reviewed the benefits of Golf Genius for Captains and provided a breakdown of costs associated with this technology. Comments and discussion regarding the pros and cons ensued.

 

  • Presentation and update on maintenance building – Andrea and David

 

  1. Walk-through occurred on 1.23.25
  2. Submittals have been received and will be reviewed on 2.25.25.
  3. Site plans from the expansion in 1998 were located, which will be beneficial to the project.

 

  • Presentation and update on 40th anniversary book – Gerry Healy

 

  1. A near-final draft of the book went to the designer on 2.11.25
  2. Pricing and volume were mentioned.

 

  • Questions and comments from associations and liaisons – none.

 

  • Review and approve minutes for 1.14.25 and 1.28.25

 

  1. Both were approved.

 

  • Future agenda items and meetings

 

  1. Look at the non-resident membership numbers.
  2. Suggestion to continue Golf Genius discussions.
  3. The golf commission is asked to review the financial forecast in light of the 10-year capital plan for preparation for the 3.11.25 meeting.
  4. Communication to members for the upcoming season to be discussed at the next meeting, 2.25.25.

 

  • Matters not reasonably anticipated by the chair.

 

  1. The Golf Department Report was submitted and will be in the overall town report.
  2. Michael Moore was approved for the commission and will be at the 3.11.25 meeting
  3. An email was received regarding the disabled Veteran AFP discount and will be added to the 2.25.25 meeting.
