2011 Captains Invitational

2-person teams may consist of 1 Member/1 Guest or 2 Members. Two Ball Best Ball, 70% handicap. 8 stroke maximum team differential. There will be flights and all players will play the white tees. See attached registration form for full details.
2011 Club Championships
Date: August 20, 2011-August 28, 2011
Format - Match Play. The Men’s Championship Flight, Men’s Senior Flight, Women’s Championship Flight and the Junior Flights will play at scratch. The net flights will be played at 100% handicap. * Please clearly state in which flight you wish to participate when you register. * Tees: Men’s Championship Flight - Blue markers Men’s Senior Championship - White markers (no gold tees) Women’s Championship Flight - Red markers Men’s Net Flights - White markers (those 75 or older may play the gold tees and the handicaps will be adjusted accordingly) Women’s Net Flights - Red markers Boys Junior Flight - White markers Girls Junior Flight - Red markers There will be an 18-hole stroke play qualifying round for the Men’s Championship Flight, Men’s Senior Flight, Women’s Championship Flight, and the Junior Flights. The low 7 scores will advance to match play. (Last year’s champion will automatically qualify and be seeded #1). If there are 16 or fewer players signed up in any of these flights, then there will be no qualifying round and matches will begin on Saturday, August 20th. (In this case players will be seeded according to their U.S.G.A. index). The Men’s and Women’s Net Flights will be seeded according to your U.S.G.A. index and there will be up to 16 players per flight. These matches will begin on Saturday, August 20th. Consolation Rounds – For those that lose their match on day one, or fail to qualify for the championship flights, there will be an 18-hole stroke play consolation round played on Sunday, August 21st. This will be 100% handicap and will not be flighted. Net prizes will be awarded, no gross. There will be no consolation round the following weekend, however, for those that advance to the semi-finals in their flight and lose, they will play a match against the other semi-finalist on Sunday, August 28th, to determine third and fourth place in each flight. Eligibility – Open to any Captains Golf Course member. In order to participate in the Men’s Senior Flight, you must have reached your 50th birthday by August 20, 2011. In order to play in any of the Net Flights, you must have a current U.S.G.A. handicap, verifiable on the GHIN system. The Junior division is open to those under 18 as of August 20th. Junior members over 18 may participate in the adult divisions if they wish.

2011 Parent Child Tournament

Any Parent/Child team, Father or Mother In-Law/Son or Daughter-in-Law team, Grandparent/Grandchild team or any other combination you can think of. At least one team member must be a member of the Captains Golf Course. Any adult non-member will be required to pay a $25 green fee in addition to the entry fee and any junior, 17 or under, will be required to pay a $5 green fee. Format: 18-Holes, Foursome Stroke Play (alternate shot). Both players will tee off and the best drive will be selected. The person’s drive that was not selected will hit the next shot and you alternate shots until the ball is holed out. You must play the selected ball as it lies. You may not substitute a ball in the middle of a hole unless it is unfit for play. There will be age divisions. Handicaps will be calculated at 40% of the combined team handicap. Handicaps will be estimated for those without a handicap. Men over 75 years of age will play the gold tees. Men ages 12 to 75 will play the white tees. Women will play the red tees. Under age 12 will play the red tees.
2011 Match Play Championship

Match-Play, 100% handicap, Single elimination. Open to any adult member of the Captains Golf Course with a verifiable handicap. Field is limited to the first 64 players to sign up. The first match will be posted on June 27th and must be completed by July 10th. You will have 2-weeks to complete each match with the final match being played by September 18th. Sign up in the Pro Shop.

Alternate shot format. Both players tee off, then choose the best drive and then the person who did not hit the selected drive hits the second shot and you alternate until the ball is holed out. Handicaps will be at 40% of the combined team handicap. Prizes will be awarded for both gross and net.

This tournament is open to any adult member of the Captains Golf Course with a current USGA handicap with at least 10 scores posted in the twelve month period prior to July 1, 2010. Each team will play three 9-hole matches on Saturday and two 9-hole matches on Sunday. ALL PLAYERS PLAY FROM THE WHITE TEES (except those 75 or older may play from the gold tees).
