Commissioners Present:

Anne O’Connell (Chair), Jeff Odell (Vice-Chair), Cindy Bingham, Carl Blanchard, Wyn Morton, Ed Pavlu, and John Piemontese.

Others Present:

Mark O’Brien (Director of Operations)

This meeting was held at the Captains Golf Course.

Call to Order:

Anne O’Connell called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m.

The commission discussed various ideas for increasing revenue including changing tee time intervals, selling tee times on the back nine, on-line last minute tee time discounts and ‘vacation memberships’. It was decided to go forward with the back nine change and the ‘vacation memberships’ and both will be on the agenda for the November meeting. It was also agreed that the commission will continue to look into other possibilities of enhancing revenue.

It was also agreed that it would be helpful to meet with our marketing person so that any changes that are made could be effectively marketed and publicized. This will happen after the budget process is completed.

 

A motion was made by Cindy Bingham, seconded by Ed Pavlu to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed unanimously.

All Captains Golf Course facilities are closed to the public until at least May 4 in compliance with Governor Baker's order requiring all non-essential businesses be closed. This means that there is no admittance allowed onto the Captains Golf Course property including the driving range. At this time, the pro shop staff is working remotely. Information requests, applications, and payments continue to be processed but may be delayed. Email communication is strongly suggested at this time.
